General

  • Panasonic's Hybrid Switch only passes 0.5 amps through the switch. The high amperage leads bypass the switch connecting directly to the motor. This prevents the contacts from burning out and failing prematurely prolonging the life of the switch.
  • The 3D files can be downloaded here.
  • Yes, anti-theft prevention is available when using our radio model tools with a Qualifier. A feature within the tool can be enabled (C1). Once the tool no longer communicates with the Qualifier the tool is automatically disabled.

Mechanical Pulse Tools

  • No, the only way to change the settings on the tools is through the use of a remote.
  • We do not suggest using Chrome sockets as it poses a safety concern for the operator (chrome flaking, breaking the socket, etc.) It's recommended that the customer uses impact duty sockets for use with Mechanical Pulse Tools.

  • Yes, the output shafts are designed to work with ergo drive sockets see below for dimensional data.
    3/8 inch. Sq. Drive, Ergo Ext Diameter - 11.9mm, Ergo Ext. Length - Approx. 10mm 
    1/2 inch Sq. Drive, Ergo Ext Diameter - 15.9mm, Ergo Ext Length - Approx. 10mm

  • We have found that it is best to use an ergo drive extension to significantly reduce extension wobble.

  • Panasonic's line of Mechanical Pulse Tools are designed to eliminate torque reaction therefore no reaction device is needed all the way up to 650 Nm. This greatly improves ergonomics and eliminates the potential of injury due to repetitive torque reaction.
  • Panasonic's Mechanical Pulse Tools offer virtually no torque reaction from 3.0~650 Nm (2.2~479 Ft. Lbs.)
  • The L1/L2 setting is the Flush Detection Mode and is the point in which the tool declares the parts to be snugged together and switches to torque calculation mode. 

    L1 - Use on applications with no pulses before the flush point or when fastening fragile materials like plastic.

    L2- Use on most applications when the tool pulses before achieving the flush point.

  • Yes, the GuardION System monitors the battery voltage and before the battery power becomes too low to maintain torque, it shuts down the tool and notifies the operator by blinking the LED indicator.

EYFGA Series Clutch Tools

  • Panasonic’s line of Precision Clutch Tools are capable of achieving better than +/- 10%>CMK 1.67* (*In ≥3Nm range).
  • No, the only way to change the settings on the tools is through the use of a remote and/or a clutch adjustment tool.

  • Yes, the GuardION System monitors the battery voltage and before the battery power becomes too low to maintain torque, it shuts down the tool and notifies the operator by blinking the LED indicator.

EYFGB Series Clutch Tools

  • Panasonic's line of Precision Clutch Tools are capable of achieving better than +/- 10%>CMK 1.67* (*In ≥3Nm range).
  • No, the basic clutch tools are not programmable. However, a clutch adjustment tool is needed for changing the torque.

  • The EYFGB series tools cannot be programmed to adjust the speed or enable other features available in the EYFGA series. Only torque can be adjusted.

  • No, the only way to change the torque settings is with a clutch adjustment tool.
  • Yes, the GuardION System monitors the battery voltage and before the battery power becomes too low to maintain torque, it shuts down the tool and notifies the operator by blinking the LED indicator.

EYFR02 Single Tool Qualifier

  • We utilize one to one ZigBee communication to ensure a high level of security at a very low mw power rating to prevent any interference with other wireless components within the factory.

  • Yes, and the cable part number is EYFRZ02CA.

     
  • No, the EYFR02B Qualifier does have discrete I/O to communicate with a PLC which can run networking/fieldbus communications.

     
  • No, a PLC would be required to batch count.

  • No, the single tool Qualifier does not have a way to export data. However, a PLC can be used with the Discrete I/O to data log.

     
  • Yes, when utilizing a Qualifier and wireless tool, a feature (C1) with in the tool can be enabled. Only the tool called up on the run screen is enabled to run. The rest of the tools are disabled.

     
  • Very easy, it’s as simple as pressing a button to learn a tool, remove/replace battery and pull the tools trigger. The tool is now learned to the Qualifier.
  • A highly reliable data signal can be transmitted if the tool is within 10m (33 ft) of the Qualifier.

     

EYFR03 Single Tool Qualifier

  • Yes, the Quick Programming Guide for the EYFR03 Qualifier can be found here.

  • We utilize one to one ZigBee communication to ensure a high level of security at a very low mw power rating to prevent any interference with other wireless components within the factory.

  • The Qualifier stores 10,000 rundowns and can be view by pressing the history button or they can be downloaded to a USB drive.

     
     
  • Yes, the Qualifier has a RS-232 port for a barcode scanner or the data can be sent over Ethernet/IP or Open Protocol.

  • Yes, however a socket tray can be used as a tool tray which will automatically select the assigned parameter to that tool.

     
  • Yes, the software can be used to program the Qualifier, download data, backup Qualifier settings, setup I/O and much more. The software is available to download here.

Batteries

  • A Panasonic Lithium-Ion battery can be charged approximately 1500 charge cycles.

  • A list of tools with the number of fasteners per charge can be found here.

  • No problem, our GuardION Technology protects the battery from being over charged. Once the charger charges the battery the charger switches to standby mode protecting the battery.

Charger

  • The EY0L82 Charger can charge 10.8v-28.8v batteries. The EY0110B Charger can only charge 7.2v batteries.
    The EY0L11B Charger can only charge 3.6v batteries.

Remote Control

  • Flip the remote over and you should see a sticker that states what each of the buttons do for that difference series of tools.

  • The EYFA31 remote control can program any of our programmable tools and only one remote is required for programming the tools.
